To begin, register online at here. Once your account has been approved, you can log in to set up your charity events and add any devices you want to be tracked. After that, download the free Charity Track app from the App Store or Google Play scan your unique QR code to connect your device to the platform and start sharing your location.

Anyone can use Charity Track! Whether you’re an event organiser, a participant in a sponsored run, a cycling challenge, or any other fundraising activity, the app is designed to help everyone stay connected and track their progress in real time.

Yes. Your privacy and data security are our top priorities. The Charity Track app transmits your location data securely to the Pentangle Charity Tracker platform. You connect your device safely by scanning a unique QR code — no manual entry required. Your GPS location is shared with high accuracy and updated automatically, ensuring smooth and reliable event tracking without compromising your security.

No! The Charity Track app is completely free for participants. Event organisers register online, and once approved, can set up events at no cost.

While the app is designed with charity events in mind, you can use it for any group activity where tracking participants is useful, such as community runs, cycling clubs, or school events.

Charity Track uses your phone’s native location services for high-accuracy GPS tracking. Location updates happen automatically in the background, so your position is continuously shared during events without any extra steps.

Once you’ve downloaded the Charity Track app, the first step is to connect your device. You can do this by manually entering your API key or by scanning the QR code generated in your online dashboard.

After your device is connected, tap “Share Location” at the beginning of your event. If your event is set up in the dashboard, your location will automatically appear on the live event map.

To make sure Charity Track can continue updating your location while the app is in the background, set your location permissions to “Always”.

To do this, go to: Settings > Apps > Charity Track > Location > Always.

This ensures accurate tracking throughout your event, even when your screen is off or you’re using other apps.
